In last few months D18 has come up with some of their amazing songs that made people talk about them, & many wants to know about D18 and interview them.
So one of the publishers i.e. feedsquared.com did an exclusive interview with D18’s both members Raga & DoubLe-S’ very closely with all the in & outs they had in their past journey & also ahead plans.
So here is what they think & shared.

“A new sound is coming from West Delhi, India. We had a privilege to talk with two engineers who are keeping the music in their hearts. The music duo D18 (Manish Semwal and Anurag Atwal) are our guests today. We talked about their beginnings, plans, secrets… Read the interview to find out more about this popular and passionate duo.”

1. First of all, thank you for accepting our invitation to talk about your beginnings and your success.
Answer – Hello, its a great pleasure talking to you. Will be happy to share our music venture with you.

2. Can you tell us more about you? Where are you from? How old are you?
Answer – We (D18) an acryonm for Delhi-18…a music band since 2009, is a Rap, R&B (Hip Hop) crew from West Delhi, India.
The crew is a Duo of Double-S’ (Manish Semwal) and Raga (Anurag Atwal), both Engineers turned Musicians and they are proud to present singing in the overcrowded rap horizon of the hip hop landscape.
We both are 25 years old.

3. What is d18 studios? From where did you get the idea to work together and when did you start?
Answer – D18 Studios is our music studio where we create records, produce & build new music for good artists. We believe in supporting new artists who may have talent but may lack in resources for it & we help them to provide it to the fullest.
Ideas always come when your ready to achieve something & we were eager to be a part of it. Yes we got ideas for music by listening to various international artists who were big that time like – Eminem, Chris brown, linkin park & more. Their music, their songs gave us light & strength to start something that we love to do. We gave our debut in late 2009 with our 1st single ‘Dhokha’.
We did alof of tracks ahead and completes 2 mixtapes & major singles that includes songs like – ‘Ho Na Juda’, ‘Love Reborn’, ‘Ishq Brandy’, ‘Jab Jago Tab Sawera’, ‘Sirf tu’, ‘Ho Gaya Halla’ ‘Bhagat Singh Back’ & more.

4. Keeping in mind that recording in the studio can be really exhausting and to last really long, how you recover your bodies and minds?
Answer – Hahaha yeah that’s really a good question, its really exhausting while we prepare and work on our music composition, lyrics and all in the studio..its really hard because its a creation..dont know how much time it takes to complete even a single track work..and moreover while recording..wuff..it takes our breath out hahaha..takes & takes to get the best output…But its our passion & so WE LOVE IT !
An artist needs hold of patience, concentration, time & hardwork to give your best while recording & to get the best vocal output.

5. What are your favorite musicians?
Answer – Our favorite musicians..mmm..well as we from hip hop genre we love rap/rnb artists. One of our favorites are – Eminem, chris brown, Mike shinoda, justin timberlake, 50 cent, MJ & G-Eazy. Apart from that as we know hip hop is rising in India too..some good artist in india changed the impact of hip hop rap music..one of the big name is Honey Singh..and we respect him for his revolution.

6. On the social media we can found many of your work. Tell us with which artists you have worked until now?
Answer – Yes we always try to promote our music throughout social media from our Official fb page, our website & more because social media is an important platform to promote your stuff.
And as you’ve asked..we have worked with not many artists because we dont believe much in featuring with other artists..because what we both can do..no other can with us in our track. But some of the artist whom with we have worked are – Kronik969, woren webbe (international artist), mighty k (ishq brandy fame). Ahead will be working with some good artists for few commercial tracks.

7. Is there any artist you would like to work with?
Answer – Yes if we get the opportunity to work with good artists like – Bohemia, honey singh, diljeet & some favourite international artists as well. It will be really great & Honour to work with them.

8. Is the music only a hobby for you or is it a full time job?
Answer – When we started our music journey..we were just kids..we didnt knew what to do & what not because we dont have that musical backgroud..no one to path us..no one to teach us. Still tried because we have that passion..we have some dreams. We were our own teacher..we ourself learned with time & efforts. We both are engineers & do got many opportunities to work for number of companies/MNC’s, but we choose music. So music is not just a hobby..its our future.

9. What is a bigger challenge for you? To make a covers or to create original music?
Answer – Making music is always a challenge whether its a cover or an original one because as we earlier said music is a creation..its always challenging to create and develop new things. But if we compare cover and originals then cover tracks are a bit easy as compared to the original one..as we already get ideas for a cover song like lyrics, idea of composition & etc & it helps in its preparation. Still we always try to create the cover very much different from the original..one of the example is our latest cover song – Love Yourself..where we changed the lyrics, music, included rap & a lot more.

10. Could you reveal for our readers what next we can expect in the near future?
Answer – Yes there is alot more to come from our side in future…alot of single commercial tracks (hindi & punjabi)..some international collaborations as well..beautiful hindi/english cover songs & more & more..Wont reveal everything..will be a surprise for all 🙂

11. What are your long term plans? Moreover, how do you see yourself in the future?
Answer – Plans ? Plan is to create the best music for our people..to build good talented artist..to see a bright music future in India.
And we see ourself not just as music producers but good musicians as well & that’s what we are from the start ..RnB/Rap artist.

12. For the end, what is your message to the young musicians?
Answer – For all the youngster around..we wanna say..this is the time to prove yourself..if you have that passion for music (rapping/singing/music producing), if you have that dream..what we call in hindi – ‘Pagalapan’..then you should go for it. Believe in yourself..proud of what you are. Keep trying & work hard for your goals..YOUR DAY WILL COME !
